We have a test site, Im at a loss as to why we aren't using it. Perhaps ask the players to vote before its implemented. This is bad here, and its almost daily. (the music change froze my browser everytime i clicked a link.) Im all for good change, but this is akin to repaving an interstate without closing it off. Great analogy!

The transparency feature was tested. Lochnessmonster and I have a system where he makes the changes first on the test site (see above) and after a few of us look at it and try it, we move to "production".
As to transparency feature: Some like it, some don't. I have a suggestion in to lochnessmonster to reverse the current situation - so that the text of posts is not transparent but the section underneath (with your tagline) is.
Best, SPM

I do use my test site whip. People just don't respond to what I put on it.

Maybe that's because 99.9% of the forum readers were content with the original skin.

That's probably true actually. Hmm.

it may be possible to make all text have a solid background just for the text, the rest would be transparent. Could also bump the opacity up a little more, so that it is barely see thru, and change to a white text.
Also good job Loch on finding the other error, havn't seen any yet today.

Hmm. People seem to like this here dta. At least they do now. Thanks a lot btw. You did a great job making the transparency.

Personally, I like it. But if it interferes at all with people's load times, or with load times for people with slow connections, then it should be removed.

DTA has been teaching me. However there is much more I have to learn. To match him. He's an expert coder. YA sure.. give DTA all the credit ... what am I chopped liver hehe we'll see when your SQL server bombs and you're skyping me at 2am... heh heh no just kidding.. SQL servers are generally very stable.. MS SQL being the exception... but ya you are getting along nicely so far... but come on this was all the ez stuff so far... now lets see you code a new mod something ez say.. no topic read counter for when the author reads thier own posts....?? )) don't worry this is why you have a DEV env. ) just an FYI that any might misundstand... these posts here and there to Mike ins't an ego thing or some exercise in serperiority or any thing of the such.... I fully support Mike with all he is and wants to do with this and I am giving him some jest and friendly nudges becuase what you are prob. not aware of is this is something we had been talking about when I was just recently completely re-creating a new LOD forums moving us off a proboards to one that I am now hosting. During this time he took an interest and was able to shadow through VNC the server build and into the initial stages of the forum design.. and I think he was able to see the really cool things that are possible when your not confined to a preset option where you can only really design the color scheme and the difference when you have no limitations and that is what I can't wait to see what he does then !! lookout heh heh so right on dude no how about that mod ?
