Ok, things have been heating up in the epic department. We have had a few good ones in the last couple of weeks.
The latest one went Saturday and Sunday...and we are still going! We are hoping to pick it up again this Saturday for another sesson of at least four hours. Post here about your availability. We may need subs. Epics are epic! They are the most fun of all scenarios. This is the way civ was MEANT to be played.
The last one started with seven players. We are down to five now. Senjay leads, Donkey (subbed by Dr Epidemic) is in second, SR is in third, RodrigoM (subbed by Kraven) is in fourth and Dunedain is in fifth.
We are tentatively scheduled to play at 11:00 AM EST on Saturday. Show up if you are interested in playing. We could use subs or we may start a new epic if not enough of the original cast shows up.
Please post here if you are interested in playing in epic games on the weekend. You should have an open schedule which allows for several hours of gaming on both weekend days. European players are encouraged to play, and we can always move the schedule around.

I'd prolly be interested in some epics.... but like I said to Dune, it kinda takes the fun out of the game when everyone else knows they are playing for 2nd, so I'm not sure if I should spoil all the fun for you guys.... not exactly fair with the Mighty Bonez in the game.

I'd prolly be interested in some epics.... but like I said to Dune, it kinda takes the fun out of the game when everyone else knows they are playing for 2nd, so I'm not sure if I should spoil all the fun for you guys.... not exactly fair with the Mighty Bonez in the game. when I hear this kind of ladder tall-talk I'm wondering why there is not something like Ladder Championship of Singles or however u may call it. At least we would know who really is the best player. and than we would see Bonez whether u are Mighty or a king is naked like it often happens . |

We did that before. It was called the WSC, World Singles Championship. It was won by Alski. So what were reasons it is abandoned? Singles championship looks like real civ3 challenge. The golden leader reward from last CCC was a good idea but it is linked to teamers so does not really shows who is the best. Now every fine player can claim that he is the best one but in reality we do not now. Ladder standings can be misleading. |

I'm all for reviving the WSC. But this thread is about reviving some super-fun epic games. I assume that everyone who posts in here is at least marginally interested in playing. I know there are many more players out there who love this style. Put the word out. See if we can't find a few die-hard gamers who know how to play this style well. It sounds like Bonez and his mouth are in. Anyone else itching for some ironman-style epic games?

man. DTA tried running the WSC over the summer and to know succses. i htink 10 poeple played? and some how fizzle was in the lead? u then see how very few people played. lol sorry fizz, its da truth.

I just played an impromtu mini epic ( 250 turn ) non qc uu ndp fcton.
It was a great scenario for epic play.
I was portugal, and i moved to coast and picked up a fish and a whale by luck( moved away from cow to get coastal ).
A noob died early, and we called after about 10 hours and 200 turns, but it was a lot of fun.
Lisbon had collossus, maus, hanging gardens, copernicus', newtons', heroic epic, milit academy, pentagon, a factory and hoover dam in it. ( Plus temples, libraries, university, and 5 armies built there so far...all filled with cossacks as soon as they were built. )
I had oil, was railed up, and would have been making destroyers and tanks soon, and someone else beat me to Theory of Evolution wonder, so i wasnt the only one fairly adavanced at the end.
It was great fun...and good to see a ladder game of more than 90 turns being played.
