If I can ask for I restart I hereby do. If not, I have already forwarded the turn to Don. Are you certain Platt? Even after bearing in mind this is a large map? I'm fine with giving one restart per player if you absolutely feel your land will cripple your entire game. Perhaps since you are playing Inca, you can scout around for a turn or two just to be absolutely certain. If in two more turns the land looks no good, and if no one disagrees, we restart. |

its easily told: I am next to a lake which is the good part. But I have ocean in 3 directions. (Popped a hut, that gave me maps of the region). So my region with the lowest corruption on the map is mainly in the water, which also for large maps is kind of a disadvantage. It's surely playable, so if you want we go ahead. No big deal.

Well, since we scrapped the last PBEM, I thought I'd go ahead and appease my curiousity and check out Platt's save:  In my opinion, this was NOT a start worth restarting the PBEM for. Posted below is the land I gave up, which is a big reason I'm upset right now. This time around, my land is more or less like Platt's land above, but there's no way I'd ever classify it as an unworkable position. Shame on you Platt   |

I will say that we agreed that we all have the option to ask for a restart and I don't believe that it matters why anyone does to, it is up to them. Maybe if someone thinks their start is unfairly too good they will ask for a restart, who cares? There is certainly no guarantee that Platt will like his retry any better and now he is stuck with it. I'd rather that we were all happy with out starts if we are going to play it out for the long term. I won't complain if every one of you decides to go for another start in hopes of improvement... esp now that I've seen my second land - its ok, but my first start was great (better than the picture that Donkey put up!). Of course, I don't care as much as some of you as to whether I win or lose, I am still learning the game and figure I can learn from any start. |

Don, I have been going strictly after the rules. I asked if a restart was an option and you said yes. Like I said the starting location was doable but I didnt like it. So if the next one the random generator gives me is worse I will have to deal with it.
And btw, from where you put your worker I am not surprised you think I had a good starting location for a huge map.

;DThis will be fun. I accept that Platt felt compromised by a large map with a pensula start. It is not bad in many respects but I know my first start was much better than Platt's and so was GC's and Don's.
In the spirit of fun let's conclude that he asked and we accepted. If GC had an even better start than Don then maybe my strong start was actually only average!
