Explanation:
Player 1 has both his civ's on the same continent,
Player 2 has one civ on each continent.
With this, Player 1 will have 50 turns, or more, of tech trading with himself while Player 2 has to first discover mapmaking and then send boats to "find himself".

Sobela got a real nice map as well for epics, I only played it once about a year ago so surely dont remember it. Its like 6 continents, each civ starts on a continent. This continent has 1 of every resource (iron/coal/horse/salt etc) but they are spread out over the island continent so you gotta work at hooking them all up while the barbs get more numeroud in med setting.
oh btw barbs start with archer barbs I think (if I rememeber right)

If you really want two civ's per player you really need a custom map. Otherwise somebody gets screwed on placement and may well leave the game.
I've got a couple of good ones somewhere.
I also suggest a 3 settler start to get thinks rolling quicker.
