A couple of things happened that made me think (it usually takes a lot) First I find myself in the position of being captain in a few games (sheesh fatty cap, whats this world coming to) Second, I am playing with more and more ppl that I havent a clue as to who they are and being a cap once in a while trying to pick between joebob and bobjoe is a bit tough and if jb is a db it makes for an unpleasant game. I also saw the profiles written regarding the HOF and thought wouldnt it be interesting if each player had a profile and I understand there is something in the boards, but maybe something they could write about themselves and then a place for
game play comments....both praises and critiques. I think it would be helpful to picking players for team games and also would help players to possibly improve themselves both in game play and also in overall behavior. I was thinking a link that is an archive of player profiles, it would also be interesting to see what other players thought of your play ...ok so I am ranting, tell me Im a dumass and I will delete the post
An example could be ....FUNKYCHICKEN FILE and inside the file it would say if your game is more than 10 turns dont pick him he will be dead by then ;D

You get the idea ... Why don't we first suggest a few more categories and then we could create a thread where people cut and pasted this info. Someone might also find a method/place on the Internet where this data could be posted. If not, we could just create a new forum called MEMBER PROFILES - and begin threads with letters of the Alphabet to make it easier to look up.

Yes spm, something like that. People can put in information about themselves. The only thing that I dont know how would work would be how other players could critique or complement other players game play. I think what would really interest players is what others thought of how they played.

Word of advice. This forum will need to be tightly regulated and monitored. While I can see the good intent in getting to know players especially new ones, there could be a downside to this forum.
This forum by nature gets more personal than any other forum. I hope that players will not use this as a place to vent anger with posts such as "this player should be blacklisted" or "I will never play with this player again" or "this player sucks because he......". Hope this turns out well. Trusting our skilled admins I beleive it will :-)

Glad to see this is gaining steam, Heres how I invisioned the finished product, someone tell me if its possible. On the main page either on the boards or even perhaps on the ladder main page there is a link that says "Member profiles" you clik on the link and you see files orgainized alphabetically, clik on the file you want to view and you would see subfiles that would have personal info and comments. the personal info file would be read only and could only be changed by the member...pw protected. The comments file would have general access
You are absolutely right Hero, I would hate to see ppl use this as a way of taking cheap shots at other players. I am sure the admins will watch it closely
