Barcelona got a very offensive team. Chelsea is very strong as well - but the level in English league is too high so you won't see they rolling like Barcelona do in Spain. If you enjoy offensive soccer (with slow deffenders ), you should watch Spanish/Portuguese or German league. If you enjoy see very good players playing, but small score games (since deffense is too strong), you can watch England or Italian league. If you want to know the result of the game before it even starts, watch french league. Lyon always wins

If simply goals are what you seek, watch the German league. More goals in the Bundesliga then any other top European league.
The Italian league has just resumed (after the government banned all football after the death of a poilceman in a football riot) but will be lacking atmosphere as most of the games will not allow any fans to watch :/
Both Spain and England have the strongest leagues in Europe. From Spain, Barcelona play by far the most offensive game. But Sevilla and Valencia has mastered the counter-attack tactic to an art form. Sevilla IMO played the best football in Europe last year. England has the most variaty of players. Arsenal pass the ball better then any in England, while Chelsea may have the most expensive team, they do rely on the long ball far too often. At the moment, Manchester United are playing the most attractive football (despite Rooney playing -and best not to watch in HDTV) at the moment. Most of the lower English teams make up for skill with a lot of heart, so if you much prefer to see a good sliding tackle or a strong block over a fancy bit of ball control, then best watching the English Premier League (I would say Scottish league, but you might as well watch rugby).

Just like the World Cup, the team that will win it will rarely be the favorites just because the competition is very high (higher here then at the WC IMO -but still not as high as the European Cup). Of cause there are the Saudi Arabia's and the USA's of the footballing world still in the competition whom just will never win it (Celtic, Lille), but apart from them, any team has a realistic chance of winning.

Soccer is boring as hell. I thought the wc was exciting for a little while but it's like baseball...long and drawn out. You see all these players do great moves, faking out defenders only to have the ball go out of bounds or something. They should add some commercials to make it a little more exciting....that might be hard to do. Another suggestion is to add 10-15 more players on each team and throw in 5 more soccer balls. Now that's some soccer I would pay to see!
