Soccer is boring as hell. I thought the wc was exciting for a little while but it's like baseball...long and drawn out. You see all these players do great moves, faking out defenders only to have the ball go out of bounds or something. They should add some commercials to make it a little more exciting....that might be hard to do. Another suggestion is to add 10-15 more players on each team and throw in 5 more soccer balls. Now that's some soccer I would pay to see! Quite the opposite. Making it 7-8 players per team (instead of 11) on same sized pitch would get a far more attacking game with a lot more goals, as emphasis would be soley on attack. And anyway, most sports are boring to watch IF you do not understand and/or play it (or have money riding on it for that matter).

I played a ton of soccer when I was younger, all the way up until I was like twelve years old. I loved it; there was nothing better than taking over the school's field during recess, setting up goal posts and running up and down the field like madmen trying to score. That's just it though, it's one of those sports more fun to play than watch. I wouldn't say there is NO strategy to the game, but between having good physical stamina/ability as a player and chemistry with your teammates, the exciting moments are too few and short lived. Funny you should mention betting, I did almost suggest an office pool based on soccer however there was more interest in putting money on the WWF....there's some good acting in both those sports!

soccer has more strategies then american football its strange listen this world from a brasilian guy....Brasilian play with 5 forwards without any strategy...but there is a lot of team that apply strategic to soccer like Italy "catenaccio" and against attack . Now the chapion of the world is Italy so for sure strategy count but not too much cause at the end the best football team of the history is Brasilian one

lmao in 2002 brazil only won cuz Scolari (u know, the actual porto´s coach) had a revolutionary tactic - the same that italy, france, germany, porto and some others used in world cup 2006 - 4231 - a new strategy that made the deffensive midfields (kleberson, pirlo, makelele) help in the offense as well (unlike how they used to be, more like a 3rd deffender) and with the two wings (in porto, for exemple, figo and C ronaldo) making the deffensive wings (like r carlos, lahm) not being able to help in attack otherwise they would suffer a counter-attack. In other words - brazilian coachs are master in tactic renovations (note that its the smae tatic brazil used in 2002) (Italy won world cup cuz australia got robbed. it wasnt penal - australia shouldve beated italy.)

We had more fun playing Smear the Queer at Recess.
That is where you take an AMerican Foorball, Throw it up in the air, and whoever catches it runs around till they get tackled. Then they Trow the ball up, and then next guy gets his chance.
We used to play this behind the endzone of the High School football games until we got into high school.

You really can't compare the two sports in terms of strategy. If you do, it would only make sense if you had a good deal of exposure to both sports in question. Here you are exposed to every popular world sport except maybe cricket. We even have niche sports like the one Ray described; I guess a game like that is played by Ohio folk on those hot summer days when they can work up a good sweat and do some real smearing on each other ;D

Good game. 2 of Real goals were illegal, so Bayern should've won.
And hey, even Lucio scored... How lame is Real deffense now? ;D

Which two goals? Bayern's first goal came from a free kick that should not have been -so there should be no feelings that Byern were unlucky not to win or draw. If you want to talk about illegal goals, only look to the Man U v Lille game.
