Even a newb has a voice on the boards should he care to express it mid, though so many players rename themselves it is hard to say who is new and who is lurking. Dune

Im not saying he cant express it or that he shouldnt express it, because he should as should many others but for me to take a viewpoint of his I just want to make sure it is an informed one first.

Rambo is propably meaning that if you take the gifted city back to yourself(propably so if it Was nearer to yourself), then you exploited the "more settler" chance and was not only thinking helping teammate. And I also havent seen 1 city game, not forced one at least. Not even if rushed with imps and enkidu warriors.

well in future i sure hope u arn't rusked with roaches ;D
I would agree with tweaking of the rule. And if the poll wasn't written the way the rule was established. Then how can you say the majority of the ladder agrees with it? If the ladder did agree then this thread wouldn't exist.
As cobra said way earlier. The game was fun, there is a point where to many rules and you start to lose the enjoyment. Just BECAUSE u lost to a specific strategy dosen't mean you have to get ride of it.
ie cheese rushs, war time, trading cites.
Everyone has the same oppurtiunity to use each strategy. Just because it's not favorable to you dosen't mean it shud b banned.

A couple of points: 1) The survey question was is re-gifting an exploit? and 68% voted yes (that's considered a landslide in any election). We then put forward the wording to prevent the exploit. As I'm explained before, just banning re-gifting wouldn't have stopped people from using the exploit. Wtiberon suggested: "Perhaps a way around this is not being able to gift a city until you have 3 cities. That way when you gift the city you'll still have 2 left greatly reducing the chances of another free settler". His suggestion was right on the money, and it was incorporated into our rule. 2) This thread exists not because the ladder dislikes the rule, but because people were uninformed. I started the thread to make sure people KNEW the rule was in place and that people had been punished for it. Your statement, "If the ladder did agree, then this thread wouldn't exist" is patently illogical. 3) You agree with Cobra's statement that too many rules and the ladder stops being fun. How about too much cheating and the ladder stops being fun too. Maybe football and baseball would be more "fun" without umpires and refs, but without rules you would have chaos, and it would make determining winners rather difficult when close calls occurred. 4) There is a BIG difference between legitimate strategies (Cheese rushing is an example, or double moving, or going into wartime), and exploits/cheating (buying Factories for the cost of a worker, for example, or contacting an opponent for diplomacy while your teammate begins an attack). Most of our members seem to be able to tell the difference. Do you really want an environment where everyone is free to cheat? After all, it's available to everyone? Think about it. SPM

Yes we need rules. I agreed but, we have 2 draw a line somewhere. If lets say in football a team discovered a new tactic and used it efficently to win some superbowls/world cup (depends which side of world:P) and then rules were made against it.. hmmm
U say 68% is land slide. Yes that is nice and a landslide, maybe include the tutu option from now on? And you just wrote that it was about re gifting. Well on regifting cities i am against. Which is probably what i voted. But, having a 3 city limit before you can trade cities isn't what the votes were on. So useing the poll as basis for the rule change is wrong. The poll says that the ladder disagrees with regifting. Not disallowing gifting of cities untill u have 3.
When i say the thread wudn't exist i ment if everyone agreed with the rule then we wudn't have the on going thread about it. But, on after thought there will always be some disagreement with someone.

well if that tactic involved putting a magnet in the ball and a magnet in the players hand (american football) i would say it would be banned, not called genius

hmm how about this scenario the speed limit is 65 you get pulled over the cop says sir you were going 65.. u say , yeah ok? the cop pulls u back 100 yards gets out a magnifing glass and says c this sign 3 inches off the ground, speed llimit is dropped to 20 mph through here. Now your going to jail for 7 days because that is 3 times the limit. Sorry.. it's what you get for your ignorance sir. That's a bit more like what it was.
