i need just a clarification, bout a think happened today in a future game:
one player needed to go.. he got 3 cities, then he gave 2 of these cities to his very near teammate after that dropped.. is it braking the rules or is possible to do it?
i understand that u have to have 3 cities and u can give 1, then if u get another city u can give another as well..
just to clarify, fortunately we subbed the dude after his drop instead of stay there without a clear meaning of this rule..
i didnt care that much though, i know them were not cheating or exploting a bug..
thx and sorry 4 my english spell

A civ had 3 cities.
His ally had 4 cities.
Civ with 3 cities gives 2 of his cities to his ally with 4 cities, leaving him just his cap.
Is this legit?

no, not according to the city gifting rules - if you have 3, and give away one - you then only have TWO left and aren't qualified to give another (until you get three again).
Some people get around this be ALLOWING their team-mate to come in and CAPTURE their cities (a stretch, but an apparent legitimate tool that works around the 3 city gifting rule).

if you have 4 cities you can gift 2, as long as after the gifting you still have 2 cities left

SPM Wait a second... killing your own teammate (or atleast stealing his cities) isn't legitimate? Consider this... One team gets the fat kid, obviously not knowing what is going on, I am 20 tiles away from player 3. The fat kid is getting bombed and cap size is size 2 when explorers discover mechs in route to take cities. Player 3 knows that by teammate losing cities the enemy will then have a very convenient base in which to bomb/ attack his civ from being only 10 tiles between the 2 teammates. The choice is then made to take the teammates cities with defense (TOWs or mechs) and turn it around on the other guy, for the betterment of the team. Or when Elrad takes noob teammates cities and kills teammates just because he has nicer land and resources? [ftp]http://civ3players.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&n=1&thread=29&page=4[/ftp] The point is... What is wrong with taking out your own teammate if it would obviously help the team? (I can already hear you laughing DTA, yes sometimes you even need the teammates to die, and I have had more than 1 passing thought about taking you out myself, ;D )
