No yilar I get the point. My point is that this game gives you mutiple options on how to build your civ and ultimately win the game. To achieve this you pick a path taking into account environment and traits to get to that objective, each paths has it risk and reward and built in is random variables. SGL is just another variable. If you feel its necessary to remove some of the variables to make the game balanced so be it...I also feel when you remove these variables you make it less random and hence less enjoyable. But, I never play anymore anyway so do what you will. After 5 years of playing this game this is the first time Ive seen it made an issue to this magnitude...what does that tell you?

It tells you there is something here, or else there wouldnt be a big deal. You guys keep giving the same wrong point. Yes there is tonnes of random variables in the game, and that makes the game fun. But SGL's are too strong, thats the issue they are too strong. They were designed by the makers of the game to add a little realism and variability to the game, a FULL Game where every civ would be getting at least one wonder during the game. They were not designed for a quick UU game where most people dont even get a wonder let alone the best one out of them all. UU is a game of quick build and bloody battle. It is not a real game of civ and therefore should not have options checked that are made for a epic game. Personally I like variability I dont mind playing the occasional UU game with SGL's. Its that all the players have to play the same way every time. Same Board Setup every time. You try to change one setting for a twist and everybody goes bananna's. If SGL's were an occasional thing I wouldn't mind, but they are in every game, which makes it a standard rule, not an option, and you can't have a very unbalanced standard rule.

No I don't have the save. I wish I did. I reinstalled windows xp today and lost ALLLLLLL my files I had on vista.
I remember losing 147 gold per turn at game end and had over 260 units though.
Lit with Russia? I popped alpha then writting. I thus switched to philo/liter combo...got lucky. Didnt even pop settler if not lord knows how high the score would be.
