Dear Friends:
In the past, people have asked for something a little different from the CCC which would also be a hallmark event for us.
Well, wait no longer. Smaller, more cozy 5-7 person teams - fewer events - but the same thrill of victory and agony of defeat.
<drum roll>
The First (but hopefully one of many) CIV3Players Team Championship Tournament will be held next weekend April 22 and 23rd (Saturday and Sunday), using C3C version 1.22. Please read the rules and schedule carefully.
Please register a team (properly named of course - be clever, but no obscenity, please) of no more than 7 players as replies to this thread anytime prior to Friday night at 11:59 pm EDT April 21st. At midnight, as it becomes Saturday, this thread will be locked. A maximum of 16 teams may enter, first-registered, first-served. There will be 5 events.
The members of the team can be used in any combination during the 5 events (including tag-team substitutions). To play, you must appear in the CIV3Players member database as of April 21st at 11:59 pm EDT and be a member in good standing.
The winner of this tourney will be the team with the most points after all 5 events. If there is a tie, after 5 events, there will be a sudden-death tiebreaker played according to the rules of event 5.
Here is the point system for scoring:
1st Place = 8 points
2nd Place = 5 points
3rd Place = 3 points
4th Place = 1 point
In some events, where there are two equal semi-finalists who come in tied for the 3rd and 4th positions, then each will receive 2 points.
.................................................
Universal Rules (Unless Exception noted): Game mode simultaneous, seeding random, SGL turned on, Accelerated production on, Cultural conversions OFF, Preserve random seed on, climate normal, age 4 billion, barb level roaming, temp temperate, and difficulty level regent. In all games, with civ specific abilities on, the order of selection will be based on current ladder rank. Selection will then alternate 1-2-2-1-1-2-2-1 etc. between the two teams.

If there are any disputes, the TD in charge of that event will make a ruling. If challenged by either side, then a committee of at least 3 Ladder Admins and TD's will be called upon to impartially reach a fair decision. All parties are bound by this decision.
NOTE: Players are expected to be in the lobby 15 minutes BEFORE the match starts to handle all registration issues so the events can start promptly. If no one from a team has registered by the scheduled start time of the tourney, or contacted the TD, the TD will assume that the team isn't entering that event, and the event will begin as soon as all registered teams have all their players checked-in and available. There is a maximum grace period of 10 minutes for all events and then the TD will close registration. Incomplete teams will be dropped from that event.
Best,
SPM
