In past Ironmans I saw that some teams couldn't fill up a player and they got disqualifed... And in all of those games it was a discussion about add a AI or just let the civ die... Couldn't the TD decide that before tourney? Just say the default rule: If a team drop, add AI or not  |

Good question - which way is more fair? Personally I don't like AIs. How do others feel?

I don't like AI's either, specially when it's a neighbour of mine who quit.
But games can be decided cuz of that... U can have sucky score, no land, no resource, than ur big neighbour got disqualifed and u win the game after building in his land and taking his resources... And u can even go for kills after that, since u can remove all units who was about to deffend/attack him and go for some1 else... Not sure whats more fair.

AI = very bad
Spm do you really expect 5 people to be able to participate in all of these events. It seems quite impossible to me.

Yes, I thought 5 would work.
On Saturday you need 2 people at 9:30 am and 1 person at 11 am. I planned it so the first event would be over before the afternoon event at 3pm (which also needs 2). So 5 people could handle all 3 events even without overlap.
On Sunday, you need 3 people at 9:30 am (only the top 8 teams). And you need 4 people for last event (3:30 pm - 6 hours later) - only the top 4 teams.
Since I don't want it to be an issue - I'll adjust the rules to allow two extra reserve players.
A team could also chose to enter 4 out of 5 events or whatever.

i think ai is the best in this situation....the balance of power could be swayed immensely and or the availabiltyof resources...i dont believe there is a good remedy but i think that the AI is fairest...we play most games at regent so we all should be able to handle an AI player

About points, I'd like to do a suggestion.... Since there was 7 teams in event, what if those who get in semi gettin a bye in first round only get 1 point? That way they won't score like some1 who had to win a game to get in semi...

Byes would.
If 7 teams then one gets bye and is in semi finals guaranteed point.
If 6 teams then two get byes and are in semi finals guaranteed points.

ya... Like gbrazuka got 2 points from byes, TNT got 4(all his points) from byes, we won at least 5 points thx to a bye in 4v4 game... So I think bye points should be less than reg points...
