Civ brasil only lost cuz I wasn't playing for more then 20 turns. Situation in our continent was really easy, 2 vs 1, the one fighting alone in republic and fighting two sides... But oh well, they insisted on picking dutch, couldn't expect much

But I know that on both games (semi final as well) Apolyton backstabbed too... Yet CBR leaders trusted with closed eyes on them, and when they realized that it would be better if they just swich side instead of keeping fighting the iroqi, guess what they did?
Btw, you guys had huge score early, and had Maya, in theory you suppose to win the game (expand more and deffend)

Coulda shoulda woulda.... we were a well oiled machine under the care of President Alski and Minister of Interior Heroic. The amount of time Heroic spent micromanaging the semi's and the beginning of the finals were amazing to watch. Unfortunately Alski was called away to work and Heroic valiantly tried to hang on, we had CGN on the ropes, we didn't talk with the frenchies, we acted sketchy to them, and in return they behaved sketchy (might i remind you all the plan was to make them next after CGN and we used and abused ours and their GA's to springboard through techs). Either way, this thread is a great blast from the past and fabulous update, although being in a non-passworded forum with this much info is great historically, but please be careful not to discuss future plans here in semi-public... there are other teams present, rod CGN skid moin BAT, ect. ect.
As was said, this game is serious and has been going on for YEARS!
don't spoil the ending
I would like to get re-passworded as well, to catch up, but I can't promise any time-giving research and advice on it the way we used to.

Hehe reminds me of our enemies luck. CGN 1st elite fight = MGL, BAT 1st elite fight = MGL. I guess they learnt that from playing SP Btw bonez, there is not much to hide, the game is almost over.

Yeah our fights were funny. Like they attack first with a Spearman, then with 5 Mounteds, then with 2 archers... I guess they never had a big lost while attacking, and yup, they got a MGL early as well.
I even remember one turn that they could attack but fortified with they stack, then one turn latter they attacked... Reloads are common in PBEM.
I'm pretty sure that CBR used reloads as well since our president evetually would come with a insane plan of attacking only with 3 archers and remaining rest fortified once in a while.

Yes but the interesting part of ISDG's is that unlike SP games rep's carry over from one game to the next, and even transcend specific games. So they may have cost us the win in this ISDG, but this is but a battle not the entire war.

What do you mean? Don't you play "pitboss" in the civ4 isdg? Where reloading supposely isn't possible. I'm just glad we didn't experince the kind of attacking that rod described. CGN basically never attacked and BAT lost units attacking (though they had retreatmeant rate of 75%+, but in such small numbers that is very possible)
If you believe you should base alliances on a teams reputation, then i'm sorry to say that you are a making a huge mistake, just like we did in our isdg game. Blindly trusting the "reputation" of one team over another, instead of going with the "obovious" choice. I can still remember all the "yes sayers" when it came to choosing an alliance with BAT over CGN, despite BAT having shit land towards CGN and being boarder to boarder with us where the good land was, we still allied with BAT, even after they refused to help with the attack on CGN.
