I am a little confussed as to what each government does, this is my understanding so far, please feel free to add stuff i miss out.
Depo.
1) This supports 4 units, for free, no matter what size the city is
2) its has alot of corruption
3) the workers work at normal rate, 100%.
4) If anything produces more then 2 shileds it produces 1 less, so certian actions are piontless, irrigating grass gives you 2 (3 minus 1) food which is what it gives anyway.
5) hurry stuff with killing people and this pisses you people off
6)No war warriness
mon
1) This has the following unit support:
less then 6 = 2
less then 12 = 4
greater then 12 = 8
2) This also facing a fair amount of corruption but not as much as depo but more then any other gov.
3) This has no caps on how much production/food/gold and tile can produce, although it only produces the same amount of gold as depo, in increased commence.
4) workers work the same as depo and rep
5) Stuff is hurried using gold which does not piss people off.
6) No war warriness
Rep
1) This has the following unit support
less then 6 = 1
less then 12 = 3
greater then 12 = 4
The every unit after this piont costs 2 gold instead of 1
2) has less corruption then monachy but more then demo
3) like mon it has no production/food caps and in addition produces +1 gold per tile
4) workers the same as above
5) Stuff is hurried using gold which does not piss people off.
6) war warriness a issue
This is my understanding of what gov to go into and when:
Depo is the worst the only advantage of staying in this government is if the game only has 90 turns and changing will take 5-6. Also so that new cites support a good number of units right away, 4.
Mono this is simular to depo, but has less corruption, if alot or most of you cites are over 6 and you are a war monger this is the ideal early government.
Republic this is generally a science based government, which if you wish to progress in the tech tree, with a moderate sized army. Big army small empire can really mess you up in this gov. But if you got a big empire with dencent sized cites this can be used to support a big army.
Other topic i need to know more about is happiness, you can read on the civpedia what city impovmeants do to your people make, unhappy to content.
Also diffrent number of people are born happy depending on the level.
A happy person makes a 1 person content, and the lux work in the following order:
1 lux = 1 happy
2 lux = 2 happy
3l ux = 4 happy
4 lux = 7 happy
5 lux = 10 happy
6 lux = 13 happy
Or something like that im not sure the above is 100% right.
Also how do you know how many entertainers you need? what do entertianrs do? how many people do they make happy?
And moving the happiness thing up 10%, 20%, 30% etc what does that actually do in terms of number of happy people? i just normally sick it up when i can afford to knowing its helping my score but not know 100% how
also when playing in 90 turn ctons, and i have very few rivers so most of my cites are under 6, is it even worth moving the slider up more then 60-70%? as i found this % normally makes everyone happy anyway so any more is just a waste of gold...right?
