Working on micromanaging is a very important skill to work on...
Maximizing growth & production is 1 of the most important if not the most important skills in.
Micromanagement helps produce units and city improvements faster in about every scenario you play...

Best thing to learn is the hotkeys, that's what I use and although my record doesn't show it, it actually makes a big difference than clicking around with the mouse.

rofl .. playing turn based vs ai .. as ottomanns .. one of my fav plays for making 'enemy cities's happy was to disband one sipahi . creates a settler in one turn . and reduces polulation.. and when you move him out to build obnoxious city in enemy territory .. sorta an instant fort .. the settler doesn't seem to mind his 'ancestry' at all. don't know how this applies here, just a thought.

Very nice thought at that!!! Disbanding units to get settler and lower population is a very nice concept as long as it is not elimination mode of course.

Disbanning units in sp is fine...probably not the best Idea in a mp elimination game..there is no way in a mp game to make an enemy happy unless of course you die.

In Futures i disband drafted tows to get my factories up faster or sometimes for a radar art or bomber to launch an attack faster. Once in awhile i'll do it in an anc also

Disband can definately be useful in both anc and future...just need to know when to do it (not very often).
