I've seen it enforced a lot. In this game I was in 3rd of the 6 we started with and I was about to attack one of the other players with a large stack of 3 man Chariots. They never came back or bitched at me for the drop. They simply kept playing. Plus at the time I was #22 on the ladder so I'm sure all of them would have loved to get a report from me. Rupman, It sounds like you need to get in with another group of players. Rarely do I invoke the 2 drop rule. I have invoked it after several drops or lagg outs though. Its never been an issue with the other players because by that time the rule is welcomed. Play with other civvers. you'd be surprised how many are there just to play. Nealcain

Most hosts give droppers wide lattitude, and most players willingly go back for dropped players, but if you are locking up everyone for 5 minutes of lag a turn, you might find everyone's patience and your leeway getting thin quick. Dune

I've seen a double standard when it comes to second drop rule. Seems some players get the waiver from the host all the time and others don't. I've been in games where one player drops 3-4 times we always go bck for him, but another has his second drop they don't even pause in game the host just says play on. I personally don't like the 2 drop rule because how it isn't even equally applied within one game, let alone from game to game.

I think depends on the people. I got only 1 time at all troubles with my provider and droped 2 times out of the game. And it was like some peeps only waited for a drop to say" ohh sorry u are out man" cause it was the only way to get a report from me. But like i said, only happened one time. And yes i agree for some i would go back more times then for others. But isnt that human being ? Not equal but life isnt hehe Best 666

1:Not everyone is lookin for reports. Some of us play cuz we like to(read addicted ) 2:Nobody in the game prolly knew about yer stack 3:Some or all the other players may have been in games recently where they were subjected to lagfests &/or multiple drops & simply focused their frustrations on this one,& unfortunately, you 4:Take it with a grain o salt. It's just a game(did I really say that?) & there'll be lots more Since I host a lot,i'll begin the game in set-up room by saying that any laggers get 2 drops,we don't come back on the 3rd. If someone is having connection problems,I take a group conscience after the 2nd drop, majority rules.

The rule guarantees everyone one free drop. Believe it or not, in the early days, some hosts wouldn't go back for you after the first drop. And it was controversial to put this feature in. I fought for it for several months back on CIV3PTW and it was only when I created CIV3Players that the "one free drop" rule came into being.
Second, the rule gives the host a reprieve power. We figure the host is in the best position to evaluate the nature of the drop. Of course many hosts will consult the other players as well.
If someone is dropping (just them, with everyone else remaining in game) twice or more a game, I think maybe just maybe they have the problem and need to fix it.
Being an optimist, I am hopeful this issue will, if not disappear, at least greatly subside, with CIV4.
