Avatar Help for the Noob?

OK, I finally found a custom avatar I wanted to include with my profile. Trouble is I can't figure out how to get it to show up. :-(

I've tried copy/pasting the URL, including and not including "http://" and "www" and typing it in by hand. I've include the stated dimensions of the avatar. When I finish entering the information and hit "modify profile" no avatar appears and when I return to "modify profile" all the information I put in regarding the avatar is gone. I can put up the standard dogs, devils and such, but not the custom one. Any suggestions?

Also, how do you get pictures to show up in your signature areas?

Did you hit the "Modify Profile" button on the lower left of the page after making your data entry?

It looks that your url somehow prevents the avatar from being shown. Thus instead copy and paste this:

www.besmarteronline.com/zar.gif

and fill in the boxes: width: 100
height: 78

Do no forget to check yes for "show avatars"

If u want to have your own url save the avatar and ftp it to your server.

and thats it.
I will take your avatar off my profile over the weekend.

Probably. you need to have avatar file online and know its URL. URL is an online path to the file.

online file? i got URL from photo bucket and pasted it were it asks for a URL. do i need to join photo bucket to pull photo from them
