Ok all... Donkey, do you have the turn? Let's try to get this one moving - I'm very fond of RaR and want to play this game!

I show that I sent it out on Thursday night, 12/9 at around 11:30pm. I sent it with our Large map PBEM. I'll send it out again

Heh, I found it and, yes, I did have it. I'd worked the other turn you sent with it and missed that one. Sorry!! RnR is my new Civving passion, been playing epics against the AI's at very high levels with a friend and it's taken the two of us just to survive a lot of the time. Great mod! BTW, if we turn up missing a unit file somewhere, I know where to go to get them and how to download and install 'em. It happens...

Should be in DK's hands unless he forwarded it already.
I would love to talk about the game but most anything I can think to say gives too much info. The number of options and possible paths leaves conquests in the dark ages. Thought conquests once seemed complicated; repetition has made much of play break down to patterns instead of inovative strategy. With RnR it seems near impossible to out think your opponents strategy with 2 civs and so much diversity between the civs.

Yes, I understand... however I do see a general strategy. Land is very important at the start - it can totally break a game to have poor land and esp. if you run into barbarians, which are tough enough to seriously hinder a civ throughout the early ages. I find that it is beneficial to build the basic things that we build in Conquests - shrine/temple and bazaar/marketplace combos and also worker housing (which becomes obsolete with Fundementalism) and forges to up production. There are various paths to research too. I'm still getting the hang of setting up a civ in RnR. As for the land, look for food, resource and lux bonuses and you need incense particularly to build some of the religious improvements. These are general observations. I have also found it useful to use the F1 screen to sort my cities by costs, research, production and income to be sure they are not lagging badly in any one of them. Later in the game I like to set up some cities particularly for production, or research, or income and specialize. Well... those are my ideas Have fun!

9b went to donkey on thursday
i agree the number of options and paths is immense although there is an inherrant need to get to dynasticsm
early city placements are key too - with no early mining or irrigating, a city can be next to useless for a long time

Yes, taking a couple extra turns putting down your first city can be worth it and civs with a scout have a big advantage.

I could not open it because hotmail said there was a virus. I doubt there was as I have seen that message on many saves and can usually get it to download after a few tries. I have been looking to change e-mail accounts. Go ahead and resend it in case I can't get this one figured out. Thanks

Re sent or maybe just sent to Don. I think my hotmail is bugging so who really know for sure. I may switch to djames@otterbein.edu permanantly but please use that in addition to hotmail until I let you know. Thanks
