I had recalled that a certain player was assigned a bomb for non-reports. I took a look at the standings and found this persons ranking. There was no bomb there so I went to the "Find a player" and clicked on their name and sure enough the bomb was there.
My question is why doesn't it just show on the standings. I would think this would be a greater deterrent for those that have a history of non-reports. Is there anyway this can be instituted? It's a hassle to have to go into the "Find a player" just to make sure all is normal with any player.
Also there is no indication shown anywhere when a player has been suspended for whatever reason. We all know there are those that totally disregard suspensions with the promise of reporting when their suspension is up and continue to play the even if someone does recall that they are suspended. The news only shows the last seven days so if someone is suspended for 14 days on the 8th day there is no way of knowing. Can't we force the names of those suspended to be shown in say RED in the standings?

Ajer, if you look a player up and he/she has a negative days idle, that it the remaining time that they are in the box for. I.E. if it shows -19 days idle that means they are still in the box for the next 19 days. Yes I agree bombs should show everywere but we are at the mercy of Cases software in some instances :-(

I have run into the same guy 3 times in the last 2 days trying to enter future games. He's XXXXX and is in the box for non-reports. None of the other players in game setup knew that he was in the box. It was only after I brought attention to the matter that someone browsed through the news and confirmed it.
My point is that it is very hard to track player suspensions. It's a bit much to expect a host to use the "find player" function for 7 players in game setup. Is there any way that these data can be summarized and displayed in some easily accessible format?
Edit: Name removed by admin

I have to agree with you Whip. It's atm very hard to find if player is in box. I have suggested for cases that they would ad list of names currently in penalty box into somewhere into homepage. I got promises that they will look about it, but nothing has happened.
Anyway if you find player playing/trying to play while in box, then e-mail admins about it. This kind of things won't be taken softly.

Its my idea from 07/31/2005 Let Neal publish non reporters ladder list from 1-20 [glow=red,4,300] TOP 20[/glow] [glow=red,2,300]unreporter's[/glow] if it is not agains rules PS Maybe only peps which had BOMB near name. By the way wot that bomb'y mean??? Explanation about bomb for kid's: Host dnt check ladder often and it was resulting that people with bomb playing games. Point for bomb is that this people cant play, RIGHT? Put that people in forum list can be help for dealing with this unreporting problem.

Well, i suppose this is my farewell, unfortunate that after so many years this is how i'm going out. I must move on with live and get past civ, and unfortunalely civ3 is dying. I just got put in box for 3 days for 3 failed formal challanges, no big whop, except it was only my 2nd at most missed formal challange as the first one the person, who knows who they are did not report to me on time, the admins, namely avo also knows this as he was the one i told, thought i would not play the person. I was assured this non report/uncompleted chanange would not come back to bite me. As for not completeing this challange all i can say is that after being asked to 1v1 the person i said yes and never heard from them aganin and saw only yesterday that i had a formal challange from this person. I defeneded #1 over 15 times, and complelted over 5-6 formal challanges. The admins don't do their job (ovious) the rules aren't enforced, and civ3 is dying, (esp the ladder) i hope you all can enjoy this game for many more years to come, although the ccc needs to be disbanded and substitued with a smaller event, with smaller rosters to keep this game alive longer, but i digress, bye everyone and gl hf~ Sincerly, Antiquity
P.S. sry to go out like this

I did not place you in the box Anti. Perhaps there is some miscommunication going on. Last time we spoke of a formal challenge was over a week ago I beleive so unless there was another challenge issued....Mayhaps myleague has some sort of automatic record of challenges, I do not know if this is the case but I will email other admins to see if anyone else is involved in your box time. As for not doing our job...I admit last 2 weeks I have been over run with work at home but I am still processing the invites twice daily and communicating with any ladder email sent to me.
As for players playing while in the box, keep those emails coming as we cannot always be in the lobby and we often rely on your information to know certain player behaviors.

I did not put you in the box as well. It is my understanding that if you fail to complete 3 Formal Challenges, you are AUTOMATICLY Put in the box by the Software.
I dont understand what you mean about the admins not doing their job?
You didnt complete 3 formal challenges, you were boxed by the Software Automaticly. Was it our job to give you special treatment?
I allways liked playing in your games, and I allways enjoyed playing both with and against you. Your leaving the ladder will be a loss to the community, but Don't blame the admins for a rule that was enforced automaticly.

Hero is correct. The Case's Ladder software automatically "boxes" anyone who misses 3 formal challenges, no matter how far apart in time. I am removing the suspension, as is customary in these cases. Go and sin no more, Antiquity And, please, just play your formal challenges, as a Number 1 ranked player should. Stay with the ladder - you have many friends here. Best, SPM

If your gonna accuse the admin staff, specifics would be great. sometimes we do miss stuff when their is stuff to miss. However, the active admin do their job, enforce teh rules as best we can. I've never had a problem with you ant, but throwing stones on yer way out the door isnt the way to do it. Best of luck to ya and I hope you come back someday Nealcain
