The asking price here is going to be the same in £ as the US price in $ which considering Microsoft's attitude to piracy is somewhat ironic. I can't see anyone rushing to get it over here at an equivalent price of $ 480 odd.

Yes considering the overhead I'm going to wait until I buy a new comp that can handle it, and then it's "free" anyway.

Moreover to see this fantastic "aero" (just few windows scrolling in 3d and mediaplayer preview) you need a video card with dedicated 128 mb.. just "500" euros or so to have the business version and like 700 to have the ultimate.. these are the less worse versions.. enjoy ^__^

OEM version is meaningless.. and illegal too.. cause it is sold by your pc/notebook manufacturer for your hardware (and just for it). if you assemble the pc by yourself you cant buy the oem version, cause it cant be bought on normal stores

That's not necessarily true, large companies may make only "restore" versions of Vista for there hardware configurations. But many small stores will sell a "real" OEM version that will work with any system just like the "box" version at the computer store, just without the fancy box and manual, and ofcourse you get no support either.

Yes CS is correct OEM versions are meant for system Builders but if you buy the OEM version for £70:00 uk pounds for premium edition like me and install onto a nice new harddrive youre a system Builder and a very happy one too

I have linux too(dual boot) but windows still has nothing to worry about for ease of use. I spent a full day with top notch tutorials trying to get my linux box to become part of my windows peer to peer network, and act as a internet router/proxy. I never succeeded after doing everything(Samaba, IP table routing etc) after a day. This same thing in XP takes 10min with two wizards CS

I second that canuck. But.. maybe u didnt want at all to have a linux server?
i can disagree with "easy to use" windows cause, yes, it is true.. but i dont need all that chit (outlook, internet explorer, windows media player, etc) to work..
linux needs his time.. iptable aint so difficult to configure and samba too.. maybe u just went for the wrong "distro", try opensuse 10.2 or even better ubuntu.. just dont stay there and say:"crap, with windows i click just here and there.."
windows as a server is like having a megaphone ;D "hey people, im here.. with my new fresh windows server.."
and not.. im not a 24h linux user.. not even a very big fan.. thats why i can say: linux is better.
