I've been playing with Suse 10.1 lately and from the on-line screen shots of Sabayon, I really don't see a big difference in capabilites other than it running off a "live" CD, which is admittedly neat.

Looks like alot of fluff.
Sure yoru panels can be separated and it avoids you going down to minimize panel to bring things back to the forefront. But does this make your comp run smoother, faster more efficiently? Screen within a screen, big deal I wont spend my bucks upgrading to Vista till there is some tangible difference.

Bantams have you tried the "flip 3d" open program sorter, it's rather more useful and eye catching than the old Alt Tab. Just don't have alot of high CPU sucking programs open when you do it CS Yes i use it for switching between CIV and C4F if i manage to remember most of the time I just minimize Civ whilst on C4F though

Well I've been using various linux installs for a while but in my mind it doesn't matter if it has Beryl or not, I spent 2 hours, with some very good step-by-step tutorials, with Samaba and port forward tables, trying to get my linux box to do what Windows XP does in 5 clicks with configuring Internet Connection Sharing and the network wiszard. Until linux can match windows for ease of use for more than just the interface, windows has nothing to worry about. Not to mention having to compile the OS kernel in a terminal program just to install a video driver CS

I assume that is the same as Suse 10.2? If so that is what I have used lately, and despite YAST making things easier it's no were near that of the windows Control Panel or Network Properties. And like I said when I went to install the latest ATI drivers for my Radeon 9800 there was no double click to install routine it was instead a drag it into a Terminal window and and "run" it. And despite the YAST apps I never managed to turn my box into a software gateway, an easy thing in Windows machine. But it is an improvement from my last foray with Mandrake 7.0.

I might repartition my HD again and give linux a try again but it didn't like my Lexmark printer either, mostly because Lexmark is lazy and off loads all the work to windows print services which makes it hard to write a linux driver for it as you have to recreate the windows print model in non-windows code. Maybe in the future I'll take linux driver availability into account when I buy something CS

I got vista by accident when i bought a laptop from walmart. It is a lot like early macOS but lacking everything good about it. But at least uninstalling programs is simple now. Anyhow anyone besides me using vista having problems with Gamespy? like getting it to work?

I've run GS arcade on my 32 bit Vista version with no problems but it could be a problem with the 64 bit version, but try what bantams said. As far as C3C, I've not tested that so I'm not sure.
