Cheaters are handled very similarly in Civ4 as they are in Civ3, that is something software does not effect, the rule of law is just as important to me now as it was when I was a C3P Admin. Investigations are conducted by the Admin/TD team and evidence is looked at and a decision is made. Fortunately we put alot of effort into making Civ4 resistant to hacking when we developed it, and it has paid off to date, most Cheating issues we have are Cton violations and ruling on dropped players and conceding/scrapping issues, but not code hacks or exploits.
And Firaxis QA is Quality Assurance(formally Quality Control), it is a tittle that Firaxis lets us free testers use as we do very much take part in the quality testing of game builds and patches.
PAL is the Peoples Army of the Ladder, the name we took for the ladder's Intersite Democracy Game starting here with Conquests and continuing with Civ4 and now just starting with BTS.

And the last questions LAW
LAW was a clan that I started back in my C3P days. It stands for Love and War. The C4P chapter of the clan endedup joining with KC and the C3P chapter has disbanded to my knowledge.

Sounds really good, DTA. Try as I might, it's hard to find anything there to dislike.

i had some ideas about a new league scoring system
maybe you guys like them and have the power to use them in some way.
the league is devided up in to divisions like the football leagues are (premiership-champiomship etc) say 50 in each.
each month there are promotions and demotions ( this doesnt mean you cant play somebody from another league) when you 1st join the league you start at the bottom.
i like this because the prestige of being a prem player means you may get a higher attendance in lobby fightnig to play wanting to be in the top flight. when reporting you gain 3 points for a win and a bonus point for a kill. the more you play the higher your gonna be.
when your trying to get to number 1 in this current league if player 2 isnt around you cant. (some games i kill 3 and still come 4th which sucks imo.) maybe when reporting you get a box asking who killed you this also reports the loss. then another league of killlers could be developed.
possible events from this league could be f.a cup--- all players are entered into a knock out 8 players competition
league cup-- obviously
you could still have ccc
world cup--i believe a couple of these have happened already.
what do you think please you guys i know some like to just rip them apart b4 actually considering possibilities. be gentle!!!
i can explain in more detail if required .
i should have a phone line in my new home in 2 weeks be back then

another quickie why not sign into a ladder game b4 it starts and then not be able to sign into another until youve reported the last one. this could help the non reporting thingy

The new system they are using is quite handy actually. It will pretty much eliminate the non-reporting issues. Was taking a look at it, it really does. I liked it, wish civ3 had something like that.

Once we have solved all the code problems and added all the features that people want we would be glad to work on cloning our system for Civ3 and doing some customization so you have a forum and main page theme that looks similar to what you have now.
Our current status is:
Basic league functions: Bugs solved 99%, new features completed 90% Tournament System: Bugs solved 99%, new features completed 75% CCC System: Bugs solved 50%, new features TBD
We have a CCC this weekend but the CCC system is not at 99% so we will likely just have the TD's create individual tournaments for each CCC event as was done using Cases.
Likely in a couple months at a minumum, the league will be at full functunality and we would be glad to offer C3P the benifit of the new league system.

when will a civ 3 site be ready ? Well the decision to start that process is upto your Admins, IF that decision is made it would likely be a few weeks to a month or so to create all the code to incorporate a Civ3 league and forums into CivPlayers. And then of course there are always some bugs to solve, but they should be fewer than we experienced with the Civ4 league. CS

Well, I"m no longer an active player here; but I do monitor this forum.
You folks would be silly to turn down the generous offer from the CIV4 folks to improve your league. There will probably be a little pain in the beginning but when the kinks get worked out you will be far better off.
