Well, Whip, we have proved time and time again that we are silly. That being said, I REALLY like the looks of what they have been building there, and the offers to help us get started are far too generous to turn down. I think it would be polite, though, to give them plenty of time to get their own system at (or near) 100% before we ask them to start working on ours. Fair is fair, and they owe their time to their own game first.
And just because I'm not considering turning down their offer does not mean that I'm not silly. Thankyouverymuch!

I also see it as a good thing. Every other civ forum/site has them combined with different areas for different games. It makes sense as people interested in one may be interested in another.....more players? But yes Zardoz I understand what you're saying too. Still, I'm not that active any more so....

Yes I'm sorry Avo the best we can do is transfer the HoF as a static historical display, we don't have access to Cases database, and since our skill vs ladder system is so different it would be nearly impossible to translate that effectively. In theory cloning the basic code is not hard....but then nothing is as easy as it is in theory Right now I am finding a slight negative aspect to the new league, the skill system is so much better and the rankings mean so much more to people, that they are now much more willing to fight over silly things to keep their skill and rank. But I guess in the end that is a small price to pay. CS

But on the bright side we had about 400-450 active players on Civ4players at it's peak, we now have 553 players on CivPlayers playing Civ4, so I do believe that the improved system is bring old players back and keeping new players longer. And I don't see any reason that it would not have that effect on Civ3 players as well.

the way their system works isn't as easy as copy and paste. The value of each win is dependant on the other players RD value. so a copy and paste of records would not do the system justice as it would make it false.

But coudl we not copy/paste the wins and loses and then set everyone's skill level to the same value and go from there?

But coudl we not copy/paste the wins and loses and then set everyone's skill level to the same value and go from there? I think we could likely do that after people joined, without effecting the default skill you would have at 1500, but I'll talk to slaughter about that. CS

A few months back I suffered a small stroke. It's affected my motor control. It's getting better though so maybe in the future I'll get back in. Overall, I'm ok.
